Jen's birthday is in a week. Thanks to Amazon, I've been able to gather a few gifts. All I can tell you that they're books--she occasionally reads the blog and I know that if I say any more than that then it won't be a surprise.

Our plans currently depend on the weather. If it's sunny then we're going to Santa Cruz. If it rains we'll stay in town and just go out to dinner. I don't know where we'll go yet; probably some place that will embarrass her by singing "happy birthday."

Last year I made her a stuffed dragon. It took me _days_ to put it together but she loved it. The year before she got a quilt. Between the two, I think the quilt came out better but she took the dragon to work so she could show it off.

Makes me wonder if I should make it a friend.

Hmm. Better go see what kind of fabric I have lying around the room.
